This blog is intended as an online gathering space for the students in the Non-Silver Photography class, Photo 415, at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Here you’ll find processes, inspirations, examples, and probably more than a few failures.
For the Fall Semester of 2020, we will be running the class as a low-contact, socially distant hybrid, with only a few carefully planned in-contact meetings. The rest will be done via email and Zoom (ugh). This is wildly better than trying to do it all remotely from home, since the students will have access to the lab and chemistry, and some crucial hands-on group work. Like many good human experiences, analog photography suffocates in a purely digital space, so we’re going to try to steal some real experience from an unreal time.
